If you have one of the old cards, you can expect to get a notice this month of the need to update, with monthly reminders. The newer, green OHIP cards have an expiration date and a photo, which means you’ll need to go into a Service Ontario centre to get one.paid for out-of-pocketThere are about 300,000 people in Ontario who still use the old red-and-white cards, which represents about two percent of all cards out there. The old cards are more susceptible to fraud than the newer ones.
