.NSWBlues coach Brad Fittler is being slammed by fans for his scarce use of reigning NRL Dally M winner, Nicho Hynes. Origin 7NEWS
He gambled on his team selection for the State of Origin opener and now Fittler is going to have bet the house on a host of unknowns as the Blues bid to keep the series alive.
Fittler wanted his side to be more aggressive and powerful after they were intimidated off the park in last year’s decider. Brad Fittler has praised Latrell Mitchell’s selfless attitude in ruling himself out of Origin 1 with a calf injury.Question marks over the potential selection of Mitchell, Pangai Jr and Young will cause Fittler plenty of consternation over the next fortnight before he names his squad for Game 2.The stakes are high for Fittler on a personal level too, because if he wins a series he will earn himself a contract extension.
