District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Noor Yusof Ali said police personnel who went to the scene found the body had been pulled out by a team of firemen. "The body was found floating about 10-metre from the edge of the pond and there were no bruises or criminal elements involved. The body was clad in a blue T-shirt and dark coloured pants.
"Witness claimed they found a pair of slippers some 15 metres from the pond and villagers who lived nearby claimed they have never seen the man. The victim is not from the area," he said in a statement here today. Noor urged those with information or a missing family member to come forward to the district police station to assist investigations.Related stories
