Budget 2025 isn't far away now and we have looked at what groups could be eligible for a once-off lump sum or bonus as part of the cost of living package promised by ministers
Budget 2025 is coming up on the 1st of October and rumours are already swirling of what measures may be on the cards.
The Taoiseach has confirmed a cost of living package, and a number of ministers have indicated that one-off bonuses and lump sums like we have seen in previous years could be a possibility again. If you got Disability Allowance, Invalidity Pension, Blind Pension, Carer's Support Grant or Domiciliary Care Allowance, you received one payment of €400, even if you qualified for more than one of these payments or you are taking care of more than one person. A once-off double week for all weekly qualifying social welfare payments was also paid in the week beginning 29 January 2024. Payments that qualified for the Christmas Bonus qualified for the once-off double week.
