For the dragons in 'Game of Thrones,' teams of visual-effects specialists borrowed elements from real-life insects, birds of prey and reptiles
By far the largest stars of “Game of Thrones” are the juggernaut show’s three dragons. From their first appearance at the end of season 1, they grew from hatchlings into flying, fire-breathing behemoths nearly 125-feet long.
Their fates, along with those of a dizzying number of human characters, will be revealed in the eighth and final season of the HBO series, which gets under way Sunday.
