Data released by whistleblower Brittany Kaiser confirms proposal by controversial company to help BN in 40 seats.
The latest leak by former Cambridge Analytica staffer Brittany Kaiser reveals BN representatives connected with the controversial firm in 2016 to seek help for 40 constituencies in GE14.
The leaked data includes a key document entitled"Proposal to United Malays National Organisation" which recounts an engagement with the office of then Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in October 2016 for a proposal to help Barisan Nasional work on retaining 27 marginal parliamentary constituencies and regaining 13 others for GE14.
The proposal also included the recapture of the Alor Setar, Bachok, Pasir Putih, Kuala Krai, Kuala Nerus, Bukit Gantang, Temerloh, Gombak, Sepang, Lembah Pantai, Telok Kemang, Batu Pahat and Sandakan seats. The documents also showed consistent engagement between SLC and the office of current Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the September 2016 Concordia Summit in New YorkBarisan Nasional, through the Prime Minister's Office had denied any engagement with SLC, claiming instead that current Bersatu deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir had engaged the services of CA and the SCL Group.
"The SCL representative also confirmed that he reported directly to Mukhriz, not BN or the government," said the PMO at the time.
