Natacha Romano, the lawyer of an Argentine woman who has accused two French international rugby players of rape, speaks during an interview with AFP in Mendoza, Argentina, on July 10, 2024. Romano said her client was savagely beaten and locked in a hotel room during an incident that the men claimed was consensual.
The man “realized that she wanted to escape, immediately grabbed her, threw her on the bed, started to undress her and savagely started to beat her with his fist,” said Romano of her client’s account of the alleged incident. A second assailant entered the room later and joined in the rape and the beating, according to the victim’s account.
