French prosecutors will present their sentencing requests on Monday in the trial of Dominique Pelicot, a man accused of drugging his wife for years so that he could invite dozens of strangers to sexually abuse her. Pelicot and 49 other men have been on trial in Avignon since September for their involvement in the rapes and sexual abuse of Gisele Pelicot, his now ex-wife. The case has shocked France and garnered international attention.
