A man who killed a 70-year-old during a road rage incident in Adelaide's CBD has been sentenced to at least four and a half years behind bars.A 70-year-old man died in hospital from a traumatic head injury he suffered during the altercationFrancois Joseph Ghassibe, 32, previously pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 70-year-old Brian Maxwell Richardson on the basis of "excessive self-defence" during a road rage dispute in the middle of Adelaide's West Terrace in April, 2022.

The trial heard that Mr Richardson pushed and punched Ghassibe in the face, who left the taxi to diffuse the situation, before Ghassibe delivered a "flurry of blows" and a kick to the chin to the 70-year-old, before the deceased fell to ground and hit his head on the road.was recently found not guilty of the more serious charge of murder

Ghassibe sat unmoved as he was handed a head sentence of six years and nine months in jail, with a non-parole period of four years and six months, which was backdated to his initial arrest.
