France avoid S&P credit downgrade but concerns persist

FRANCE managed to avoid a fresh credit downgrade from a leading rating agency on Friday, despite mounting concern over the country’s surging national debt. Leading ratings agency Fitch in April lowered its rating on France’s debt, which is approaching €3 trillion. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription.
