Four members of the Proud Boys convicted for their actions at the United States Capitol building on January 6, 2021 received prison sentences this week. Ethan Nordean, convicted of seditious conspiracy and labeled the “undisputed leader on the ground on Jan 6” by a prosecutor, was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Nordean’s sentence ties Stewart Rhodes’, founder of the Oathkeepers, for the longest sentence received for actions on January 6.

Zachary Rehl, the former Philadelphia Proud Boys chapter president who was convicted of leading a mob toward the Capitol, was sentenced to 15 years, half the sentence length requested by prosecutors. Dominic Pezzola, who was acquitted of seditious conspiracy charges but was convicted of other charges including assaulting or resisting a police officer, robbery of a police shield, destruction of government property and obstructing an official proceeding, was sentenced to 10 years.
