That brings to 1,114 the number of flood victims who have fled to temporary relief centres across the state.According to Pahang Civil Defence Force director Colonel Zainal Yusoff, Rompin is the worst-hit area, with 1,005 people taking shelter at eight PPS, followed by Raub ; Bera and Temerloh .“Floods have also forced the closure of six roads in Rompin," Zainal said in a statement today.
Checks on the infobanjir.water.gov.my website revealed that four main rivers in Pahang have breached their normal levels. Sungai Tembeling in Kuala Tahan, Jerantut was measured at 65.23m this morning, compared to its normal level of 60m; Sungai Pahang in Sungai Jap, Jerantut was at 49.20m ; Sungai Triang at Triang, Bera was at 33.72m ; and Sungai Kuantan in Pasir Kemudi was recorded at 6.02m .
