Perak Health Department director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming was addressing claims that have gone viral messages on social media that the individuals from Pusing here had been in close contact with the Singaporean.
"The person travelled to the country between Jan 23 and Feb 2. He was tested positive for the virus on Feb 8 by a Singapore laboratory," she said in a statement today. The 51-year-old who has a permanent resident status had met with relatives and also visited some shopping malls here between Jan 23 and Feb 2, it said.
"Based on the information given, Kinta district Health Office had conducted contact tracing and managed to trace four of them. None of them is experiencing symptoms of respiratory tract infection.
