Four individuals died after attending a New Year's Eve concert in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Police are investigating the deaths and suspect the victims may have consumed ecstasy.

Police in Shah Alam have recorded statements from 15 individuals, including family members and friends of the four people who died after attending a concert in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, on December 31. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan told Bernama that the police are currently awaiting the autopsy and toxicology reports to determine the cause of the victims' deaths.

He also revealed that, according to information from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM), two other victims who displayed similar symptoms to those of the deceased have regained consciousness, but remain in a weak condition. Preliminary investigations suggest that the four victims who died after the New Year's Eve concert may have consumed ecstasy. Previously, the concert organisers released a statement asserting that the safety of attendees and other stakeholders has always been their top priority when hosting the concert. The management added that they had taken precautionary measures for the event, which included the presence of over 100 policemen as well as security personnel and K9 units at the entry points. Media reports had earlier revealed that the police were investigating the deaths of four individuals, aged between 20 and 40 years old, including two women, who attended the New Year's Eve concert. – Bernam
