NEW INFO | Fire officials believe the fire started on a couch. Four children, ages 1, 3, 12 & 14 and a man were given CPR on the scene and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
INDIANAPOLIS — Five people were transported to local hospitals after they were found unconscious during an apartment fire on Indianapolis' east side.
Crews found a 28-year-old adult and a 1-year-old child unconscious near the couch, both were removed from the home in cardiac arrest and CPR was administered. The adult and 14-year-old were rushed to Eskenazi Hospital. The three younger children were taken to Riley Hospital for Children for treatment. All five were listed in critical but stable condition at the time of their transport.
