22 personnel, including officers and police personnel, were deployed to monitor four popular beaches in Kuala Terengganu due to the phenomenon of large waves and strong winds. Two coastal roads were also closed due to damage and safety concerns.

22 personnel, including officers and police personnel, were deployed to conduct regular monitoring at four popular beach locations due to the phenomenon of large waves and strong winds. Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor said the locations were Tanjung Beach, Mengabang Telipot Beach and Seberang Takir Beach in Kuala Nerus, and Batu Buruk Beach in Kuala Terengganu.

He said the monitoring was aimed at ensuring public safety following the phenomenon of large waves and strong winds expected to reach speeds of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour (km/h) throughout the following week. 'Tonight, a high tide is expected at 10 pm. So, I advise the public and people to avoid approaching the coastal areas because it is very dangerous.' 'I ask the public not to take safety lightly because we still find many people, especially teenagers, gathering at the edge of the wall at Seberang Takir Beach to watch the waves,' he said during a visit to the damaged road in Kampung Tanjung today. Meanwhile, Azli said two coastal roads in Kampung Mengabang Telipot and Kampung Tanjung have been completely closed to all road users since yesterday. According to him, these locations, which are popular for recreational activities, had to be closed due to damage and other safety factors. 'We had to close the Mengabang Telipot coastal road for 300 meters and the Kampung Tanjung road for about 330 meters as a precautionary measure following the phenomenon of strong winds and high tides. 'We will close this road until the wind or wave conditions subside. During this period, the public can use several alternative roads that can be passed by all types of vehicles,' he said.
