Found it hard to sleep? Sydney was as humid as Cairns on Sunday night

Tropical conditions are set to continue this week, with soggy and humid weather due for most of Monday.

If you felt like your home was as muggy as a tropical north Queensland resort town over the weekend, you’d be right: Sydney recorded humidity temperatures as high as those in Cairns on Saturday and Sunday.

“The higher the dew point, the more humidity and moisture there is in the air,” he said. “It means it’s more difficult for people to cool down. At 8pm on Sunday, Sydney thermometers sat at 26 degrees, but a very high dew point temperature made the air feel like 30 degrees.The higher-than-average humidity is mainly due to a slow-moving surface trough over NSW, which is pulling significant amounts of tropical moisture down from Queensland, and producing rain across the state.The tropical conditions are set to continue over the early days of this week, with soggy and humid weather due for most of Monday.
