Firefighters rescued man who fell in storm drain Sunday night in far west Fort Worth, fire department says. The patient was hospitalized.

The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to the accident scene on Tolleson Drive about 8:45 p.m., according to a news release.

The man had fallen about 15 to 20 feet down a drain culvert that had been covered with a piece of plywood, the fire department said. Crews climbed to the bottom of the trench with an extension ladder to provide immediate care for the patient, according to the release. A technical rescue team set up a system to pull the man above ground, where he was treated further before being taken to a hospital.
