Yet another young, former Wolverine is finding his way in the NFL.
Several former Wolverines are making waves in the NFL. Whether it's Aidan Hutchinson terrorizing quarterbacks and picking off passes or Cesar Ruiz or Josh Metellus signing significant new contracts or Nico Collins emerging as a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver or Jake Moody banging 50-yarders, Michigan is well represented in the league. Most recently, DJ Turner II has been earning more and more playing time for the Cincinnati Bengals because of how effective he's been.
After turning in a blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.26 during April's NFL Combine, Turner began to shoot up draft boards a bit. Ultimately, the Bengals took him in the second round with the 60th overall pick, pairing him with former teammate and fellow defensive back Daxton Hill. Both of the young DBs are playing solid minutes for the Bengals and Turner has actually been in the headlines as of late.
The 5-11, 180-pound speedster has been playing more and more because of how good he's been, which included 144 coverage snaps. He hasn't been targeted a lot, mostly because whoever he's checking isn't open, but when he has he's been shutting receivers down. It's also come to lie that DJ's actual first name is JuanDrago, which is simply outstanding. He's only got six NFL games under his belt, but already it looks like the Bengals have hit on their second round pick.
