Jamil Burroughs entered the transfer portal on June 30.
A native of Powder Springs, Ga., Burroughs will join former teammate Javion Cohen with the Hurricanes and former Nick Saban assistant Mario Cristobal. Because Burroughs entered the portal after the April 30 deadline, he will need an NCAA waiver to be eligible this season.
“I’m not mentioning any names, but there’s only like one player that I was really like disappointed that the guy didn’t stay here, and I couldn’t understand why he was leaving,”, “And all the rest of them, they would have contributed if they stayed and had the right attitude, but it’s their choice.” Miami opens the season with Miami-Ohio on Friday night at 6 p.m. The Tide host Middle Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
