“Hopefully, that call comes in,” said Carter, who will be watching the draft at his uncle’s place in Conroe with his mom. “When it does, everything changes. Everybody’s just waiting. I’m excited.

Carter wanted to hoop. His mother, Delisha Reed, thought otherwise.

“I’ve been dreaming about this since I was a young kid and now it’s here. I’m just excited for my turn to go to the league and show what I can do and show people who KeSean Carter is.” “My agent keeps it real with me,” Carter said. “We don’t know what’s going on in the process, but anything can happen and just be prepared. I just have to keep proving myself and go out there and do what I can do.”Carter first picked up a football at four years old. At eight years old, he was playing in youth leagues against players three and four years older.

Carter’s dad took him and his cousins all around Houston to play against teams in other leagues. Bishop offered advice, and still does to this day, and was an example of what it took to be great. Carter committed to Texas Tech and played three seasons for the Red Raiders, catching 83 passes for 831 yards and seven touchdowns, before transferring to Houston.
