A former teacher has been charged following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse committed more than 30 years ago at a school in northwest Sydney. 7NEWS
Officers from Ku-ring-gai Police Area Command established Strike Force Byanbi in June 2022 to investigate reports of sexual assault alleged to have occurred in a public school in St Ives between 1984 and 1988.
Hornsby detectives arrested a 68-year-old man at a home in Wagga Wagga on Wednesday following extensive inquiries.Police will allege the man sexually assaulted three boys aged between nine and 12 years old while they were under his authority as a teacher at the school and during camping trips. The former teacher was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with 12 offences, including seven counts of sexual assault, three counts of homosexual intercourse - teacher of pupil, and two counts of buggery.He is set to appear in court again on Wednesday, April 26.
