Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Njabulo Manqana has explained why he never had financial challenges during his playing days. SLSiya Read more:
"I've never had a problems with money at any team I've played for because I was given good money and many thought I joined Orlando Pirates because of money," Manqana explained to the Siya crew.
"I didn't leave KZN because of money, it has never been a challenge. The reality is that Lamontville Golden Arrows paid me well and another factor, I never had an agent, so I didn't split my salary."However Manqana admits that many players are suffering financially. "My family knew everything about my movements and I didn't consult anyone but right now I can see players are making serious money. It's just that there's lack of good advice and some have to split with agents," he added.
"Finances really affect football, some teams really can't pay a player money to sustain themselves after football and that's why some players move to other teams."
