IPOH: A former Perak civil servant has been slapped with three charges for accepting bribes amounting to RM149,600.
Herman Ibrahim, 45, pleaded not guilty to all three charges under Section 165 of the Penal Code, before Sessions Court judge S. Indra Nehru here on Friday .
In the first charge, Herman was said to have accepted RM7,500 from one Mohd Zulkhibri Abdul Mutalib, who is an event management company owner, at a bank on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah here on Nov 15,2018. In the second charge, he was said to have committed the offence by accepting RM68,600 from one Raja Khairy Ehsan Raja Norddin via a bank transaction into a third party’s bank account, to set up a laundrette owned by his father-in-law Bustanudin Bustamam on Feb 14,2019.
In the third charge, Herman was said to have accepted RM73,500 from Raja Khairy Ehsan near the Perak Stadium here on Feb 18 last year.She also ordered Herman to report to the nearest MACC office until the case is settled. Herman was represented by Khairilazwar Khalil while Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Wahida Jalaluddin prosecuted.
