The Dallas Police Department called the 25-year-old's death a homicide on Twitter and is asking for anyone with information about what happened to come forward.
Lampkin appeared in 17 games with two starts for the Sooners between 2015-2017. He had 22 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss as a junior, and then entered the 2018 NFL Draft. He went undrafted, but did get a shot with the Tennessee Titans. The team waived him before the start of the season. Lampkin also played in the National Arena League during the 2019 season.
