Former New York Yankees star Jason Giambi puts his Cabo estate up for auction

The nine-bedroom Hacienda-style residence, which opens into a bubbling Zen fountain, has exposed stone accents and a two-level freeform pool, hits the auction block from May 21 to May 24 without reserve, meaning it will sell to the highest bidder regardless of the price, according to Concierge Auctions, which is handling the sale.

He still has the house, dubbed Casa Cielo, on the market asking $10.7 million with the Los Cabos affiliate of Sotheby’s International Realty. Mr. Giambi, 48, who co-owns the property with another investor, rents out Casa Cielo for more than $5,000 a night, according to short-term rental site VRBO. The rental listing shows off the home’s gallery of framed baseball jerseys and boasts a state-of-the-art gym with “the serious gym enthusiast in mind,” but makes no mention of the property’s famous owner.
