A former marketing officer, Suhaini Sarwan, was sentenced to three years in prison by the High Court in Kuala Lumpur for two charges of possessing materials related to the Daesh terrorist group in May last year. The court ordered the sentence to be served concurrently from the date the accused was arrested on May 30, 2024. He was found guilty of possessing Daesh articles and terrorist acts on his Lenovo Thinkpad laptop and at Felda Lok Heng Barat, Kota Tinggi, Johor, on May 30, 2024.
KUALA LUMPUR: Seorang bekas pegawai pemasaran dijatuhi hukuman penjara tiga tahun oleh Mahkamah Tinggi di sini semalam bagi dua pertuduhan memiliki bahan berkaitan kumpulan pengganas Daesh , Mei tahun lalu.
Mengikut pertuduhan pertama, Suhaini didapati memiliki artikel Daesh dan perbuatan pengganas itu dalam komputer riba jenama Lenovo Thinkpad pada pukul 2.20 petang, 30 Mei tahun lalu di sebuah premis di Taman Daiman Jaya, Kota Tinggi, Johor. Timbalan Pendakwa Raya, Mohammad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad mencadangkan hukuman berat dikenakan terhadap tertuduh dengan mengambil kira kepentingan awam melebihi daripada kepentingan peribadi.
“Tertuduh merupakan penanggung utama keluarga, mempunyai dua orang anak yang berusia 14 dan 18 tahun. Dalam kes ini dia telah insaf dan berjanji tidak akan mengulangi kesalahannya lagi,” katanya. Pemeriksaan ke atasnya mendapati sebuah beg tangan kulit berwarna biru yang mengandungi dua telefon bimbit iaitu OPPO A96 dan Honor Lite serta segugus anak kunci.

Domestic Tourism in Malaysia Sees Strong Growth in Q3 2024Domestic tourism in Malaysia experienced robust growth in the third quarter of 2024, recording 66.3 million visitors, a 22.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
