Springbok fans are outraged at the 'trophy tour' taken to Gqeberha over the weekend, which included just two players on the back of a bakkie.
Five months after their Rugby World Cup win, the Springboks have finally taken the Webb Ellis Cup on a trophy tour to Gqeberha .embarked on a nationwide tour with the cup to cities and towns like Johannesburg, Soweto, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, and East London.On Saturday, 23 March, the Springboks kicked off their trophy tour to Gqeberha, with the first stop in Zwide, the hometown of captain Springbok Siya Kolisi.
Just two players joined in on tour – Jessie Kriel and Deon Fourie – who come from Cape Town and Pretoria, respectively. In place of the official bus was a bakkie, on which the players sat with the gold trophy.
