HAYWARD — Tennyson wide receiver Taeshaun Lyons, whom one national recruiting service rated the fourth-best Bay Area high school football player in the Class of 2023, announced on Friday that he will play for Washington.Flanked by his mom and dad in the Tennyson gymnasium, Lyons had caps of his four finalists — Washington, Notre Dame, Oregon and Miami — on a table.“Up until like three weeks ago, I had no idea where I wanted to go,” Lyons said. “I needed the time.
Only Menlo-Atherton wide receiver Jurrion Dickey , Pittsburg quarterback Jaden Rashada and De La Salle tight end Cooper Flanagan ranked higher than Lyons among Bay Area seniors on the state list, according to 247Sports.com.Pittsburg receiver Rashid Williams, rated one spot behind Lyons on 247Sports ‘s list, also committed to Washington.
