Previously, we reported on Grab potentially acquiring foodpanda Malaysia and several SEA markets as the latter’s owner, Delivery Hero is weighing its sale. Now, it looks like foodpanda’s sale is nearing closer, in fact, as early as December 2023.
As reported by NST, Frankfurt-listed company Delivery Hero is likely to seal a deal to sell foodpanda Malaysia next month. The latter’s operation in our country is 1 of 7 markets where Delivery Hero was said to be selling to Singapore-based Grab Holdings Ltd. The other markets include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. However, foodpanda Malaysia itself is reportedly in the dark about its parent company selling the business, though many workers are readying for the worst.
