In Texas, eligible citizens can use their Lone Star Card for their SNAP benefits, which will vary in amount based on income and household size.For a household of one, the maximum monthly SNAP benefit is $281, the maximum monthly SNAP benefit is $516 for a household of two, and for a household of three, the maximum monthly is $740, with the value increasing depending on the number of household members.

For a household of eight people, the maximum monthly is $1,691, with the value increasing by $211 for each additional person in the household beyond that size, per Texas Health and Human Services. SNAP benefits in the Lone Star State are available to recipients in low-income households, with different eligibility requirements depending on age. People who are 18-49 years old are only eligible for SNAP for three months in a three-year period unless they have a job that is more than 20 hours a week, have a disability, or are pregnant, per the state.The maximum monthly income permitted to be eligible for SNAP in Texas depends on household size.

SNAP benefits can be used for groceries but cannot be used for tobacco, alcoholic drinks, items that someone cannot eat or drink, or owed food bills, among other things, per the state.
