KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is expected to experience continuous rain until Wednesday (Jan 25), according to a red alert warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Red alert signifies danger level where a continuous heavy downpour is expected.
State Civil Defence officials together with other rescue and security authorities are already on standby to face any emergency situation, they said following the alert on Monday . Places in the orange alert category include Sabah's interior Tambunan, west coast areas, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Kota Marudu, along with Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor; as well as Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Maradong, Mukah and Bintulu in Sarawak.
