A combination of heavy rainfall and high tides has led to flooding in the fishing village of Tok Bali in Pasir Puteh , causing displacement of residents. The phenomenon forced about 300 inhabitants to be relocated to temporary relocation centers (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Cherang Ruku and SK Kulim. Locals like Abdullah Awang, 50, recounted the difficulty of the situation, noting that the village previously was not prone to such flooding.
Seven PPS centers have been opened in response to the crisis, including SK Kulim, SK Bukit Tanah, SK Cherang Ruku, SMK Cherang Ruku, SK Sungai Petai, SK Dalam Rhu, and SMK Dato’ Ismail. Additionally, villagers from Kampung Golok and Kampung Besar were also relocated
