The flood at the official residence of the Kedah MB, Seri Mentong, has reached one meter, forcing Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor and his family to evacuate. According to Special Media Officer Helmi Khalid, the water level from the Kedah River behind Seri Mentong has been increasing since noon yesterday. By evening, the floodwaters were estimated to be about one meter high in certain areas.
The flood is not the first in recent years, with similar events occurring in 2010 and September last year
