Former riding champ comes from Saratoga to take home big bucks
Trainer Phil D’Amato and jockey Flavien Prat teamed to win two of the Grade II stakes on Del Mar’s undercard Saturday. Prat had four wins in his one-day return to Del Mar, including the featured Pacific Classic on Flightline.Jockey Mario Gutierrez and trainer Doug O’Neill teamed to win the Del Mar Derby with Slow Down Andy in the third, $300,000 Grade II stakes on the card.
The 6-5 favorite, Hong Kong Harry moved from sixth along the rail going into the far turn before veering outside to pass the final three horses at the top of the stretch and win by 2¼ lengths over Irideo with Cathkin Peak third.
