BUKIT MERTAJAM: A total of nine individuals, including five women, have been arrested in connection with the death of a one-year-old boy believed to have been abused.
Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Cheng Shan said that, in the incident that occurred at about 7pm on Saturday , police received information from the Seberang Jaya Hospital that a child with abuse marks was brought in to the hospital and had been confirmed dead.
"Investigations found that the victim was brought to the hospital by a man in his 30s, who told the hospital that the boy had fainted and needed treatment.ACP Tan said following the incident, a total of nine suspects aged from 16 to 48 years old have been arrested in the Seberang Prai area.He said nine suspects had been taken to the magistrate's court here for remand.
