JOHOR BARU: Five men have been arrested for drugs after they were stopped at roadblocks during the movement control order (MCO) here.
Johor Baru OCPD Shahurinain Jais said the individuals were caught at two separate MCO roadblocks on Wednesday .
"The first arrests were made at 1am, when a group of three men were stopped at the roadblock on the Sultan Iskandar highway.The second group was arrested at around 3am along Jalan Pantai Permas Jaya, involving two men who also tested postive for methamphetamine. ACP Shaurinain said that one of the men had a total of 11 criminal records for robbery, house break-in, voluntary causing hurt, drug abuse as well as involvement in organised crime.
On Tuesday at about 10.30pm, a man was also arrested at a roadblock along Jalan Taman Daya after testing positive for ganja.In an unrelated case, ACP Shahurinain said that two suspects were arrested for breaking into a hotel and stealing a 32-inch TV."We received a report at 10.26pm on Monday regarding a break-in at a hotel in Permas Jaya," he said, adding that both suspects were wanted for another similar case and motorcycle theft.
