Five independent directors of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) have expressed disagreement with the proposed sale of the company to a consortium, citing concerns that the offer price does not reflect MAHB's true value. They argue that MAHB has strong growth prospects, a view disputed by the consortium, Gateway Development Alliance Sdn. Bhd. (GDA), who believe their growth projections are overly optimistic. Despite these dissenting voices, nearly all MAHB shareholders have accepted the offer, with GDA securing 98.68% acceptance as of February 12th. The government believes the privatization will enable MAHB to implement necessary transformations and investments to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving aviation landscape.
KUALA LUMPUR: Kementerian Kewangan tampil menjelaskan mengenai laporan yang mendedahkan bahawa lima orang Pengarah Bebas Bukan Eksekutif tidak bersetuju dengan penjualan saham Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad dan mengesyorkan menolak tawaran pembelian.
Jelasnya, pandangan itu tidak akan dapat direalisasikan dalam keadaan sedia ada dengan mengambil kira cabaran berlarutan yang dihadapi. Beliau berkata demikian bagi menjawab soalan dari Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal yang meminta tindakan kerajaan berhubung perkara tersebut.
