Five children are among the missing after a horrific fire tore through multiple properties on a picturesque Queensland island.
Emergency services were called to the property on Todman Street about 6:20am following reports of a house fire.
Plumes of smoke covered the surrounding area, with the house fully enveloped by the blaze that also inflicted damage on nearby properties. An investigation was immediately launched, and a crime scene established, with initial inquiries suggesting six people were unaccounted for. “Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire,” a Queensland Police statement said.Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were sent to the scene to dampen the blaze and conduct a search for the missing people.
