A wild traffic crash on the Gold Coast has led to five people facing charges over their involvement in the incident.
Officers patrolling Surfers Paradise Boulevard on Friday about 8.40pm spotted a vehicle reportedly stolen on Monday from the suburb of Oxenford.
The driver allegedly accelerated forward when they were approached by the police, knocking an officer to the ground before colliding with another vehicle in front of it. Footage of the incident showed the car drive up the side of the other vehicle on a narrow road before it became stuck with its right side wheels having mounted the car.A wild traffic crash in Surfers Paradise has led to five people being charged. A 69-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle was escorted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition while the male senior constable who was injured was taken to Pindara Private Hospital with a possible fractured right clavicle and cuts to his lower limbs. Police charged a 16-year-old boy from Labrador with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, acts intended to resist arrest and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.The other four occupants of the vehicle – a 19-year-old Loganholme woman, 20-year-old North Booval man, 35-year-old Paradise Point man and 36-year-old Nerang man – were all charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
