Five found apparently shot in house in Charles County, Md.
Five people were found dead Friday in a house in Charles County, Md., after a shooting was reported there, authorities said.
The scene appeared to be limited to the house in the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive in La Plata, the sheriff’s office said.The five appeared to be adults, Janelle Love, a spokeswoman for the county sheriff’s office said. It was not clear, she said, what relationships existed among the five. Authorities were sent to the house about 4 p.m. in response to a report of a shooting; Diane Richardson, another spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said an autopsy would determine the cause of death.
No information was available about any suspect in the deaths, and nothing could be learned immediately about what prompted the shootings. Although authorities described the incident as apparently “isolated to” the house, Richardson said they could not yet rule out other possibilities.It appeared that a large contingent of emergency personnel responded to the scene and the matter was under investigation Friday night.
