Fish & Fizz in Richardson had a nontraditional dining room with beach-themed memorabilia art and covered booths. Fish & Fizz was the definition of a neighborhood restaurant — one that Richardson residents are already missing., our critic praised the “craggy, golden” fried fish that hit all the notes: It was tender, flaky, crunchy, briny and crazy hot. It paired nicely with a glass of sparkling wine, our critic said. Aha! That’s the name: fish and fizz.
The restaurant was decidedly casual and even a little DIY — customers had to find their own tables and get their own forks and condiments, for instance — but the food was great and the wine list was impressive, we said.“For $14, Barclay is serving up an entree you’d pay more for at a fancier restaurant. And so far, diners have been willing to endure a few hassles to get it,” the review said.
“Over the last three decades, Nick and Kelli Barclay have lived in what he calls ‘pockets of dreams,’” the article reads, “with adventurous projects that have an average five-year lifespan, always managing to leave on a high.”Fish & Fizz was at 400 N. Coit Road, Richardson.
