The restaurant in EpicCentral seats 100 people inside and 125 outside and looks out over Grand Prairie’s biggest development yet. EpicCentral will soon have two hotels, a convention center and four freestanding restaurant buildings that reside near an indoor water park, a 120,000-square-foot fitness center and a 50-and-up rec center. The walkable, family-friendly area will “set the tone for what’s coming to 161,” says EpicCentral creative producer Zane King.
Nearly all of the barbecue recipes came from Lavine, fiddling in his home kitchen. He’s especially proud of the creamy and spicy Mexican corn and the fresh-cut fries. The potato salad, loaded with dill, is studded with pillowy potatoes. The cornbread, made by Lavine’s wife Ann Lavine, is moist and spicy from chunks of jalapeños and green chiles.
