couple Elan Cohen and Cindy Thompson have announced their engagement nearly two years after meeting on the show.
The two, who were introduced to each other for the first time on the show in 2017, revealed the news via a video shared on First Dates’ social media pages. The clip shows them together as they tell the cameras: ‘Hey guys, we’ve got some exciting news for you… we’re engaged.The clip also shows much-loved restaurant host Fred Sirieix congratulating the couple, along with barman Merlin Griffiths who says: ‘How you doing man? Congratulations on your engagement. Bloody fantastic news!’
The couple hit it off immediately when they first met in the restaurant nearly two years ago, and Cindy left viewers in tears when she revealed her mum’s terminal brain tumour. Sadly, her mum has since passed away but she has since revealed that she died happy after seeing her find love with Elan.‘Her very last words were to Elan when she said, “Don’t let me down”. He held her hand and told her he wouldn’t,’ Cindy told Mail Online.
