KUCHING: The first batch of Sarawakian students from Peninsular Malaysia returned to the state on Friday (May 1), where they will be quarantined or undergo home surveillance for 14 days.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said those returning to green zones would first be quarantined in hotels here and samples taken from them on the 10th day for testing."We will monitor them every day and swab them on the seventh day to check their health," he told reporters after receiving the students at Kuching International Airport.

"The regulations are meant to protect the green zones. We want to make sure that when they go back home, they are clean.
