Firefighters called out to a car that was well alight have made an alarming discovery after they extinguished the blaze.
"Skeletal remains" have been found by firefighters putting out a car blaze.
Emergency services were called after midnight to Waterfall Flat Carpark, about nine kilometres south of Engadine, over reports of a vehicle on fire. New South Wales Rural Fire Service crews extinguished the flames and inspected the vehicle where they located the human remains.The shock discovery was made at Waterfall Flat Carpark, near Engadine, just after midnight.They notified police who arrived at the scene a short time later.The remains will be sent for forensic investigation to determine identity.Police remain at the scene, with the discovery being treated as suspicious.
