Firefighters cut roof off SUV to rescue driver after Clairemont Mesa rollover [Breaking]
San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters cut the roof off of an SUV early Sunday to rescue a man trapped inside after the vehicle went off the freeway and rolled over, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The SUV crashed off of Regents Road south of state Route 52 in Clairemont around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and rolled in thick brush, Battalion Chief Erik Windsor told OnScene TV. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was unable to get out of the SUV and firefighters had to cut its roof off to pull him from the vehicle.
The man suffered minor injuries, Windsor said. Video shows him standing and talking with firefighters after he was rescued. The driver went to a hospital for evaluation, Windsor said.
