The Mets and Buck Showalter parted ways earlier this month.

The Mets were coming off of a 101-61 record in 2022 and sporting the league’s highest payroll, but they were still out of the playoff picture for months. The Angels declined their 2024 option on manager Phil Nevin after the team went 73-89 this season.
