A fire broke out in Jalan Brantian, Kalabakan, destroying seven blocks of sawmill workers' quarters. The fire was brought under control and extinguished without any casualties reported. The cause and estimated losses are still under investigation.

TAWAU : Fire destroyed seven blocks of sawmill workers’ quarters in Jalan Brantian, Kalabakan early Saturday.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Department Chief Jemishin Ujin said they received a call about the incident at 3.44am and a team of eight firefighters and several fire engines were deployed to the location, approximately 67 kilometres away.“Upon arrival, we found six blocks of workers’ dormitories, each consisting of 20 units, as well as one block with 10 units, fully engulfed in flames,” he said.SPONSORED CONTENT Sabah revenue hits RM6.
