A cafe has been heavily damaged by fire in regional South Australia, days after two other blazes damaged and then destroyed another cafe on Kangaroo Island.

But crews prevented the flames from spreading to a local supermarket, despite winds blowing in that direction. While causing major smoke damage, the flames were contained to the kitchen and did not spread to a restaurant and a nearby supermarket.
